April 15, 2020, the truth is that we are saddened by so much bad news that surrounds us.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, on a Saturday, we were hired to clean and sanitize a small apartment in the center of the city.

The property belongs to a retired police chief who learned about our forensic cleaning services through a referral from the scientific police.

The person who had rented the property was a lady who didn't have time to arrange her move.

The doorman informed us that he had to wash the entire building with pure chlorine and poured about 40 liters of pine-type disinfectant on the floor.

All to remove the odor, but he said that smell still persisted during the week and fans had to be turned on in the main hall.

We don't know, but the person died in the bathroom, on the death certificate due to cardiac arrest. Medicine boxes were on the floor of the apartment's bedroom. Everything indicates that he may have had a heart attack.

We went up with the police and soon a reinforcement of the social assistance from the city hall arrived to remove clothes that were in the closet and taken for donation.

We separate all existing personal documents, money, watches, valuables and deliver them to the police. Cabinets, stove, refrigerator and clothes were for social action of the city hall.

All the cleaning work was done in the bathroom where the death occurred. The body must have been in an advanced state of decomposition, inside a white bucket you could see small insects and a voice from outside warns us to put it straight in a bag, seal it and not open it again.

The IML gang had thrown fluids into that bucket. On the floor, remnants of hair were stuck together.

The bad thing about working in places of death is the depressive air, the sadness of knowing that there was life in that place. Our aim is to remove the dirt, the contaminated air from the environment, to remove the atmosphere of depression left by death.

There is nothing good about this work, there is the coldness of everyone involved and the sadness in the eyes of those who stayed.
